Work Projects

‘My Little Monster' Stoplight: Got the light used from a construction project for free, as I knew the foreman.

My Greenhouse Desk: Welded together from scrap parts I found in an abandoned greenhouse, including parts of a growing table, which is where I got the original legs. (Street signs were scrapped at work… nothing stolen!)

Pool Table Lamp: Greenhouse growing lamps from same as above.

Attached Desk Shelves: They come and go off the desk, depends on how I feel, right now they are off as I have new glass shelves on the wall above the desk.

The AV Stand: A stand made of ½ inch and ¾ inch steel tubing. I wanted it to have arms to hold the shelves so I can have full access all around it. I put ¼” black acrylic on the top (used this chance to buy 1/8” acrylic for the top of the desk also). Changed the legs of the desk at this point, using the parts from the Stoplight project. Notice the “T” joint on the legs? By adding a 6” nipple here, it makes for a great foot rest.

The Metal Tree: This idea came into my head; don't know why or from where... I had these greenhouse growing lamps lying around, I had used them before for the pool table lamp. I knew I needed to do something with them, so I decided to build a tree out of it. I took 1/2" steel tubing and bent it up and welded it together, even had the whole thing powder coated. The three top lamps are actual lights, the highest one being where the photocell is going to go to turn them on. The two off on the side will hold plants, while the three in line will act as a fountain. The water for the fountain circulates though that square box at the bottom. Defiantly my wildest and largest project to date.
